Ikitai ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Ikitai mobile application.

When you create an account and use Ikitai, we collect the following information:

Account information: name, email address, date of birth, gender, and profile photo.
Profile information: nickname and personal description you choose to share.
Location data: your approximate location, used to show you plans near you. We do not store your precise location history.
User-generated content: plans you create, messages you send, and participation requests.
Usage data: app interactions collected anonymously via Firebase Analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account.
To show you plans and users near your location.
To enable communication between users through in-app messaging.
To send push notifications about plan activity.
To enforce our community safety features (blocks, reports).
To improve the app through anonymised analytics.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore, Firebase Auth, Firebase Storage), hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure. Data may be stored on servers located outside your country of residence.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share data only in the following circumstances:

With other users, as necessary to operate the app (e.g. your nickname and profile photo are visible to other users).
With service providers (Google Firebase) that help us operate the app.
When required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

5. Age Requirement

Ikitai is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will delete their account.

6. Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your account at any time from the Profile section of the app. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, your plans, your messages, and your profile photo from our servers.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To make a request, please contact us at the email address below.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
